You can "cheat" the combat, use heavy attack, if it fails you can press in the bottom to go back a frame which will allow you to do light attack which always work, if the heavy attack hits congrats!

you need to interact with the endos, but to get in the room you need to go through the door with puppet, its the top tight door in the basement first room.
